Demonstrator & Marker, Durham University (October - December 2023)

Demonstrating in undergraduate computational physics workshops on Python and numerical methods (L2 Computing Workshop, part of Lab Skills and Electronics module) and marking assigmnents.

• 4 classes per fortnight (approx. 60 students each)
• Approx. 120 assignments per fortnight

Assistant Instructor, Timothy Smith Network, Boston, MA (July - August 2023)

Co-teaching a STEM outreach programme for High School aged (13-18) students, focused improving access to technology and teaching students about growing food. The programme was 6 weeks long in total.

• Taught the 3D modelling and 3D printing part of course (Using Autodesk Fusion 360 and a Formlabs SLA 3D printer)
• Co-taught the student's project section of the course
• Acted as teaching assistant for the Introduction to Python and Arduino section
• Designed curriculum, planned and delivered lessons

1:1 Tutoring, Durham University Student Volunteering (2021 Academic Year & Present)

Working with two GCSE Maths students, one in Y11 (previous) and one in Y10 (current). This involved understanding how they were progressing in maths and working through content with them (largely by working through problems, sometimes exam questions and sometimes of my own design).

Additional Experience

Student Digital Leader, Durham University (September 2021 - Present)

Part-time work for the Computing and Information Services, the University's IT Department. This included supporting new students get to know the university's IT systems at the start of each academic year and working on a number of larger projects, most notably the development of a new SharePoint-based intranet site.

• Writing, managing and developing content for the CIS intranet
• Helping staff and students with queries on the IT Service Desk
• Organising and delivering induction talks for new students (classes of 30 - 400 students)
• Assisting with the roll-out of new Audio-Visual equipment in teaching rooms and providing support at conferences
• Assisting with the roll-out of new software and services
